Principal's Message
Dear Students, Parents and Community Members
As always, I would like to take this time to personally welcome all of you back to school for the 2012-13 school year. I hope you all had a relaxing summer and some quality time with your families. My entire staff and I look forward to serving your students and are committed to maintaining the tradition of excellence at Liberty.
Madera Ranchos is a special community that takes pride in its schools, emphasizes good character and values its children. Our talented, thoughtful, and hard working children are another reason why this community is so special. They excel in the classroom, on game fields and as citizens in the community. I am fortunate to be a part of this community. Parents, thank you for letting us work with your children!
When you visit Liberty High School, you see a dedicated and professional staff that has high expectations for themselves and their students. You see safe, well maintained facilities and a warm welcoming environment. The teachers are committed to their own professional growth and learning, so they can bring cutting edge knowledge to their teaching. They combine rigor with relevance and build positive relationships with the community. They spend countless hours in the classroom and on play fields to develop well rounded students. They combine their teaching skills with a love for teaching and for children. They are committed to preparing their students for college in challenging financial times, and an increasingly competitive world.
There have been no changes in the administrative staff this year, this is good for the continuity of the site programs. There are two new teaching staff members this year.Mr. Ken Vossler will join us as the Special Day Class teacher and head Boys Basketball coach. Mr. Joshua Koop is a new addition to the English department. Mrs. Juanita James will join us the new Sp.Ed para professional. We extend a warm HAWK welcome to Mr.Vossler, Mr. Koop and Ms. James; I am excited to have them on board. We bid farewell to Christine Panian who will now serve as the District Program Specialist. We will miss her and wish her well in her new position.
At this time the staff is working hard to put the registration process in place. The registration materials will be ready to be picked up beginning Aug. 13. Registration will be on August 17th and Freshman orientation is scheduled for Wed. August 16. All the dates and pertinent information is available on the Liberty High School website at www.gvusd.k12.ca.us under the Student and Parent Information tab.
I invite you to visit our campus and explore our websites for more information about your school, academics, athletics, activities, counseling, teachers, classes and other useful information. I look forward to working with you in the coming school year, Thank you and GO HAWKS!
