Course Syllabus

Spring Semester
May 1 - 11th:
David Hockney inspired photographic collage.
April 3rd - 27th:
Students will be working on creating a visual game (1) Find 5, were images will be changed 5 different ways from the original and compared. They will also be working on a visual work of art where (2) Symmetry/Pattern will be used to make a visually appealing work by repeating the same image in the same frame.
March 12th - March 23rd: Students will be using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to create (1&2) Cover Art for books or album covers. The project will be hand drawn and transfered into the digital format.
January 9th - February 3rd: Students have worked on (1) Colorizing a Black and White Image and are also learning more about Photoshop by completing (2) 3 Tutorials in the program. (3) Photo Manipulation will be used to (4) Blend images together.
Fall Semester
Nov. 28th - Dec. 16th: Students will be using Photoshop to work on the (1) Restoration Project.
Nov. 7th - 18th: Students will be introduced to Adobe Photoshop. Students will be working on simple edits.
October 3rd - November 4th: Students will turn in all project work and begin to work in the computer lab. Students will produce (1) 2 works of art using Adobe Illustrator and (2) 2 works of art designed for a Marketable Product. Learning the Software is a large part of the classwork.(3) Adobe Illustrator Artwork.
September 12th - 30th:
Students are working on hands on art projects in the art classroom. Practice in both drawing and painting as well as collage.
(1) Still Life Drawings, (2) Portrait drawings, (3) a Digital Image of a Still Life (4) a Digital Image of a Portrait and Group Portrait. Due 9/16/11
(5) Students are now creating collage work that represents both Group Portrait and Genre Scenes and will have (6) a Digital Image of a Genre Scene due 9/23/11.
(7) Finally, students will begin to create a Mosaic referencing Landscapes.
