ROP Digital Media (Regional Occupational Program) -Class Syllabus
The ROP class is designed to give student real world experiences, in the field of Photography, Videography and Computer Software applications as well as business, to give them a head start in the market place.
Weekly Assignments
April 23 - May 25th:
Students are constructing thier (1) digital portfolios in InDesign and creating visual art and images to place inside. (2) Each student is responsible work product of their choosing that will be graded during senior finals. Students will also need to finish (3) a group video.
January 19th - April 20th
Students have been working in the Production Groups from the beginning of the semester. Each week they are tasked with various projects relating to sound recording, photo editing, video production, video editing and graphic design. Students grades are given based on their (1) Production Time Card, where they will list each project, the accomplishment made with that project and the time involved. Each students Time Card varies (from Thursday to Thursday) and is specific to their expertise and motivation.
November 28th - Dec. 16th: Students will begin to put together a small group (1) Presentation of a product with images (1 must be manipulated), copy and presented using PowerPoint.
October 3rd - November 18th: Students have broken into groups to work on a variety of projects - (1) Photo Shoot is a 3 person project using studio lighting to market a product or to create interesting art pictures. (2) Students are exploring Adobe Photoshop through (2) 3 Tutorials for manipulating images.
Septemeber 12th - Sept. 30th:
Students continue to experimnet and learn camera functions. Reading and (1) Q&A Chapter 4 in Textbook for Digital Photography. (2) Portrait and Portrait Airbrushing assignment with computers and cameras.
August 29th - Sept. 9:
Students will be finishing (1) Artist Brand/Icon Logo (2) Camera Exposure Quiz and start creating (3) Marketing Flyers to promote picture sales at Sporting Events.
