Hello and Welcome to English 9 Honors!

This year, the class is, simply put: Awesome!

We're going to engage with the same, to similar material as English 9; however, the Honors class will move quicker, and more indepthly through the Units.

In addition to covering more ground, indepth, we will read out-of-class novels, and short stories, which will engaged critical thinking, technical writing and analytic reading.

Some stories we will read are:

The Pearl, by John Steinbeck.

Sidartha, by Hermen Hesse.

Our Anthology, in English 9 Honors.

and, Cross-Cirricular Books, in conjuction with the Math/History Department.

In each of said assignments, we will write formal essays, informal writes (which engage discussion and critical thinking), and we will learn skills of vocab, reading, grammar and literary analysis.
