Homework help ideas:

Spelling: many students struggle with the visual memory skills required to memorize spelling word especially when the word cannot be sounded out.

Study options:

Salt Trays:  pour a thin layer of salt on a cookie sheet and have your child write the spelling words in the salt. For some students, "feeling" their spelling words aids memory.

Index cards: write the spelling words in two different colors of ink. Depending on the child's need, you can write the vowels in one color and consonants in another. (though) Or if there is a difficult letter pattern, write that in a different color (though).
