Birthday Club
The Birthday Club is a program that gives students and their families an opportunity to make a contribution to the Helen Allen Library. It also encourages children to enjoy the gift of giving on their birthday, normally a day of receiving. This is a wonderful way to celebrate your child’s birthday while at the same time, adding to the great books available in our school library.
Here is how the Birthday Club Works:
The school librarian will provide a Wish List of books for the library. The Wish List can be accessed through the Webster School library catalog at http://172.27.248.7/ under the Support the Webster Library link on the home catalog page OR you may access the Wish List on Amazon.com directly at http://www.amazon.com. Look for the Webster Elementary School-Helen Allen Library public list under Lisa Huddleston. All purchases off the list on Amazon.com will be shipped directly to the school.
Books may be purchased from the Wish List in one of the following manners:
1. Donors may purchase a book directly from the Wish List and have it sent to the library.
2. Donors may purchase a book from the Wish List at a bookstore. All books purchased must be in hardcover format.
3. Donors can make a $20.00 donation to the library and the school librarian will purchase a book from the Wish List for your child.
Once a book is received, a label will be placed inside identifying the book as a Birthday Club donation with the date and student’s name. The book will be presented at the student’s next class library visit and displayed prominently as a Birthday Club donation.
Students will have the satisfaction of knowing they generously gave to their school library and that their birthday gift will be used by others for years to come.
