Homework

Homework will be assigned each week as a way to reinforce and practice what the students are learning in class. This will also provide parents an opportunity to check their child’s progress. A weekly sheet will go home on Mondays which will list that week’s homework. I realize that evening time is very busy in most households. Therefore, I will try to limit the amount of work that is coming home. My goal is for students to be doing no more than fifty minutes of homework per evening, plus their reading. However, students who are not using their time wisely in class will be asked to complete any unfinished work at home in addition to their regular homework. Please encourage your child to read for approximately thirty minutes each evening.  I am going to ask you to sign a log saying that your child has read.  Each day your child needs to write down how long he or she has read as well as the name of the book read and number pages read.
